Commitment of Journalistic Discourse in Construction of National Identity

The study is a focused application on the imagology field. The thesis in whose direction it is argumented is the following: a) the concept of identity retrieved in psychology, sociology, philosophy; b) the vision of the Romanians about themselves sequential exposed in the pages of the magazine „Dilema Veche” (“Old Dilemma”) in the period September-October 2006. Recently appeared on the scientific scene, the concept of identity is an essential component of the social contemporary existence. Romanian masters discover with sadness that in 2006 elements of cultural and identity, tradition are still imported and that‟s why, badly understanding democracy and liberty, Romanians allow themselves anything: gregarious spirit, colloquial talking, violence, brutish, arbitrariness. According to N. Berdiaev the concept of liberty implies respects the other‟s liberty, namely: we are free as long as personal liberty doesn‟t defy the other‟s right to liberty. The chaos and haste are the two constants that control the Romanians amplifying stress, abridging them the deepness of things. It is to be remarked also the superficiality and indifferent attitude towards the people and rejecting the values to the new generation which, although wanting to be free, still remains stuck into libertinism

On the Degree of Extension of Some Models Defining Non-Regular Languages

This work is a survey of the main results reported for the degree of extension of two models defining non-regular languages, namely the context-free grammar and the extended automaton over groups. More precisely, we recall the main results regarding the degree on non-regularity of a context-free grammar as well as the degree of extension of finite automata over groups. Finally, we consider a similar measure for the finite automata with translucent letters and present some preliminary results. The development of energy plant (lingo-cellulosic) crops represents the promising solution, for the future production of biofuels in order to produce renewable energy and replace fossil fuels. For the implementation of energy crops were elaborated a series of technologies and technical equipment that respond to the requirements of these crops. Honey sweet food was first used by man until the discovery of sugar cane and beet sugar. Archaeological prove that the man began to eat honey since 10.000 years ago. Beekeeping practice started around the year 700 î. Hr. For centuries honey has been considered sacred items due to its sweet taste and its scarcity. In our country, resource abundance and variety of spontaneous and cultivated bees provide honey nutrition, early spring until late autumn. In these circumstances, in recent years, beekeeping (an activity that does not require special investment) has become a profession for people whose existence is assured revenues from beekeeping. It can be observed that both the number of bee families and the honey production have reached a significant growth

Network analytics for drug repurposing in COVID-19

To better understand the potential of drug repurposing in COVID-19, we analyzed control strategies over essential host factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection. We constructed comprehensive directed protein–protein interaction (PPI) networks integrating the top-ranked host factors, the drug target proteins and directed PPI data. We analyzed the networks to identify drug targets and combinations thereof that offer efficient control over the host factors. We validated our findings against clinical studies data and bioinformatics studies. Our method offers a new insight into the molecular details of the disease and into potentially new therapy targets for it. Our approach for drug repurposing is significant beyond COVID-19 and may be applied also to other diseases.</p

Perceptions on the Effectiveness of Communication between Public Institutions and Journalists through Social Media

This article presents the challenges and opportunities of social media for public institutions and argues that the designing and implementing government public relations using social media involves more than merely having another communication channel for publics. I will explain the “social media”, the differences between social media and electronic-Public Relations - E-PR, and the communication between public institutions and journalists. The interviews with journalists or with PR specialists in public institutions were focused on the use, the extent of this use, and the perceived value of various social media as sources contributing to agenda building (Cobb, Elder 1983). If journalists are regularly monitoring sites and forums for story ideas and information, it is necessary for PR professionals within each industry to carefully monitor the information placed there and perhaps engage content producers. In this paper, I conclude that social media is an alternative instrument to encourage a two-way communication channel between government and publics. In public relations, the emergence of social media challenges the traditional instruments of government public relations. e-Citizens’ Perspectives about Education on the ‘Debating Europe’ Platform

In order to have a stronger relation with the citizens, the governments, in this case the institutions of European Union, created media platforms. In the context of the European (digitalized) global village (Ciastellardi, Patti, 2011, p. 15), all public institutions, especially the European Union’s agencies, directorates and units needed to enhance their online visibility through a complex array of communication platforms – websites, webcast portals, social media pages or any other type of virtual platforms - websites, webcast portals, social media pages or any other type of virtual platforms -, thus converting the offline motto “United in diversity” in a virtual unity in diversity. Responding to the evolution of information and communication technologies (ICTs), the platform www.debatingeurope.eu was launched in September 2011 by the Brussels-based think tank Friends of Europe and Europe’s World, the only Europe-wide policy journal, in partnership with the European Parliament, Microsoft and Gallup, “to encourage a genuine conversation between Europe’s politicians and the citizens they serve – and that means taking YOUR questions, comments and ideas directly to policy makers for them to respond” . Starting from the objective of the platform, I focused this research on one of the six channels of ‘Debating Europe’, namely “Smarter Europe” to find the specific frames that e-citizens – the public, PR specialists, officials or analysts - may present, interpret and assign to the specific topics, policies, and directives of the European Union. My study will examine the most relevant frames and issues associated with education in Europe, the most commented topics and their relevance in accordance with the political and social problems of European Union
